Trash and recycling barrels must be at curbside (off the road, with the opening of the barrels facing the street) by 6:00 a.m. the morning of pick-up. They must also be removed by 7:00 a.m. the following day.
Make sure your barrels are placed at least 3 feet apart. This provides enough clearance for the automatic arms of the trucks.
Paine's Inc. will pick up HOUSEHOLD TRASH ONLY in the 65-gallon blue barrel provided. All trash must be bagged before placing in the barrel (you may use your own trash bag). Please, no liquids or hazardous materials of any kind!
All recyclables are to be placed loose in the green 95-gallon barrel for single-stream recycling. Your recycling is picked up EVERY OTHER WEEK on the same day as your trash. The recycling schedule may be found on the front page of Town of Granby's website.
If you have more trash than will fit in the barrel, you may purchase 30-gallon purple "extra trash" bags from Public Works for $2 each. Paine's will pick up ONLY designated purple bags. Place the purple bags next to your trash barrel for pick up. It is not necessary to call Public Works for authorization.
If you have more recyclables than the 95-gallon barrel can hold, you may bring your extra recyclables to the Transfer Station on Saturday.
