THINK ABOUT IT...
Every resident of Granby throws away nearly 2 pounds of trash every day. And although these numbers are on the decline, it is clear we need to continue to reduce the amount of trash we generate. Waste reduction can easily become second nature to all of us, if we adopt a few very simple habits.
Keep canvas bags in your car and use it for shopping rather than using bags from the store.
Buy in bulk when you can. And avoid purchasing disposable items.
Give paint, old clothing, furniture and appliances to charities or consignment shops. Or have a tag sale.
Buy recyclable containers and items with little or no packaging. And buy recycled products.
Compost! Compost! Compost!
