Granby residents may now include #1-#7 plastics in our curbside single stream recycling program!  This means that all our yogurt, cottage cheese, ketchup containers can be included.  The CRRA (Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority) has asked that we make sure all containers are rinsed clean, as usual.  They also will not accept black plastics or Styrofoam.

COMPOSTERS
The Town of Granby has "Garden Gourmet" compost bins for sale.  We are subsidizing them for Granby residents only, for the low, low price of $35 (tax included)!!  Stop by Public Works any weekday between 7:30 and 3:30 and pick one up.

SERVICE FOR BULKY ITEMS

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTIONS

THINK ABOUT IT...

Every resident of Granby throws away nearly 2 pounds of trash every day. And although these numbers are on the decline, it is clear we need to continue to reduce the amount of trash we generate. Waste reduction can easily become second nature to all of us, if we adopt a few very simple habits.

Keep canvas bags in your car and use it for shopping rather than using bags from the store.

Buy in bulk when you can. And avoid purchasing disposable items.

Give paint, old clothing, furniture and appliances to charities or consignment shops. Or have a tag sale.

Buy recyclable containers and items with little or no packaging. And buy recycled products.

Compost! Compost! Compost!
