BOARD OF FINANCE
SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 30, 2008
PRESENT: Michael Guarco, Chairman; Gordon Bischoff, Frederick Moffa, OD; B. Scott Kuhnly, and Al Wilke
Chairman Guarco confirming a quorum called the special meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
1. ESTABLISH MILL RATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008-09
Michael Guarco stated the special meeting was to set the mill rate for FY 2008-09.
Gordon Bischoff made a MOTION to adopt the resolution as follows:
2008-2009 RESOLUTION FOR MILL RATE
WHEREAS The Town Meeting has adopted an Annual Budget for the 2008-2009 Fiscal Year on April 28, 2008, as proposed by the Board of Finance, and
WHEREAS This Budget includes appropriations from the General Fund, Dog Fund, Cossitt Library Fund, Local Capital Improvement Program Fund, Capital Equipment/Improvement Fund, Town Aid Road Fund, Sewer Utility Fund, Recreation Events Fund, Education Quality and Diversity Fund, and Other Funds, and
WHEREAS This Budget includes an expenditure amount for the Board of Selectmen of $13,823,562 and an expenditure amount for the Board of Education of $26,250,004 for a total Town Budget of $40,073,566, and
WHEREAS Anticipated revenues excluding taxes levied for the 2008-2009 Fiscal Year amount to $10,380,533,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Finance set a mill rate of 29.35 to raise an estimated $29,693,033 in property taxes for the 2008-2009 Fiscal Year.
Frederick Moffa, O.D., seconded the motion, the Board voted unanimously to approve (5-0-0).
ADJOURNMENT
ON A MOTION by B. Scott Kuhnly, seconded by Al Wilke, the Board voted unanimously (5-0-0) to adjourn the meeting at 7:04 p.m.
