Each panelist will briefly address their topic and there will be ample time for questions from those attending the discussion. The need for follow-on Discussions on additional topics will be determined based upon the reception and success of this first panel discussion.
The GLA is in the process of acquiring a collection of materials selected to support and enhance the quest for knowledge by those adult children who are facing the aging of their parents. It is felt that many are or may be in need of support and/or specialized attention for their parents. Several members of the GLA have personally experienced the "aloneness" associated with having to deal with this topic and, with the awareness that there was and is no need to "go it alone," the GLA has offered this collection to the Granby Public Library.
The purpose of the Panel Discussion and any follow-on Discussions will be two-fold:
- to raise community awareness of the availability of the collection in the library
- to provide a forum for Granby-area residents to learn first hand about the services available to them through the social work, legal and health care communities.
