Really Rock'n Reading Group

The Really Rock'n Reading Group for 5th, 6th, and 7th graders will be meeting on Thursday October 15, from 4 - 5 PM in the Children's Program Room.  Librarian and club leader Ruth Crutchley will be discussing Specials by Scott Westerfeld.  

Books are available at the library.  Sign-up in the Children's Room or call 844.5284.

The Really Rock'n Reading Group for 5th, 6th, and 7th graders will be meeting on Thursday November 19, from 4 - 5 PM in the Children's Program Room.  Librarian and club leader Ruth Crutchley will be discussing Homecoming by Cynthia Voight.

Check out the new Marshall Cavendish Digital resource Elements.  There is information about the origin, discovery, characteristics and importance of the 117 known Elements on this site.  It also includes articles, drawings, photographs and a clickable Periodic Table.

The Nutmeg Book Award encourages children in grades 4-8 to read quality literature and to choose their favorite from a list of ten nominated titles. Jointly sponsored by the Connecticut Library Association (CLA) and the Connecticut Educational Media Association (CEMA), the Nutmeg Committee is comprised of children's librarians and school library media specialists who are members of our sponsoring organizations.





Newbery Medal Books - find Newbery Medal winners, 1992-Present
The Newbery Medal has been awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children. It is named for 18th-century bookseller John Newbery.
