Friends of Cossitt Library
The Frederick H. Cossitt Library, the first public library established in Granby has been in continuous operation since 1890. It is now, through the efforts of the Friends of Cossitt Library, on the National Register of Historic Places.
Established in 1957, the Friends of Cossitt Library is a group of volunteers devoted to the enrichment of library services, materials and facilities at Cossitt Library.

Friends’ accomplishments:
Services - Programs, special events & celebrations, books to retirement
villages, holiday gift book program, summer reading clubs,
prizes, museum passes, coffee, teas and seasonal treats.
Facilities - Children’s room, annex, new roof, furnishings, shelving,
copier, computer, signage, displays, outdoor furnishings
and plantings, print & AV materials, adult room restoration.
Fund Raisers- Spring "Books & More" sale, Fall Cossitt Fair, etc.
(Books, DVDs, videos, CDs, tapes, recorded books, and are collected throughout the year.)
Walk through our doors, step back in time, and enjoy a cup of tea and a comfy chair. Best sellers are readily available at Cossitt as are DVDs, videos, recorded books, excellent magazines, and an outstanding collection of children’s books.
Please consider membership in the Friends at your own personal level of commitment to help continue Frederick Cossitt’s legacy. Family life-time membership is $25.00.
Tax deductable donations made out to the Friends of Cossitt Library are always welcome. Help us carry Cossitt Library into the 21st century while retaining the ambiance and personal service of an earlier day.
