TREASURER’S REPORT

In Ms. Kielbasa’s absence, no report was given.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH:

Ms. Yost reported that Bob Mayo will be the volunteer of the month for October for his work on the Senior Club Craft Fair fundraiser.  Helen Descher will be the volunteer of the month for November for her creation of the “Art is Ageless” program.

ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE REPORT

  • Sandy Yost, Program Coordinator
  • The “Art is Ageless” program began in early October.   The Beading class has almost finished and they have decided to continue to meet on a regular basis as a group.  The class will be offered again in February. The sweatshirts class is going well and Carol Day will do a watercolor class in January.  Although this class has not yet been advertised, 14 people have signed up and there is a waiting list.
  • The November/December newsletter has gone out and there has been a fairly good response so far.
  • By request, there will once again  be a trip to Bright Nights in early December.
  • The Thanksgiving luncheon will be held on November 21st and approximately 50 people have already signed up.
An evening meal, “Holiday Spectacular”, will be held on December 17th.
Some of the ‘low cost’ trips that have been offered are a trip to New Haven and a trip to Northampton, both for $2.00.
In January and February, Ms. Yost will concentrate on more in-house activities.
A financial planning event is scheduled for later this week and so far, only three individuals have signed up.   Historically, events regarding financial or health issues are poorly attended.  Dr. Barwick and Incy Muir offered to assist with any programs related to health matters as it may help attendance if people are familiar with the individuals running the program.

  • Bruce Sullivan, Senior Club Treasurer
  • In Bruce’s absence, no report was given.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT

In Ms. Kielbasa’s absence, no report was given.

TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

In Ms. Grakowsky’s absence, no report was given.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was adjourned at 2:05 p.m. ON A MOTION by Jack Vanderbilt, seconded by Mary Keating.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
