lll. Tabled/Old Business:
A. Volunteerism/GCTV Board - Mary Root, resident of Hartland, has
expressed interest in pursuing a volunteer position on the GCTV
board. Members of TTCTGAC were encouraging. Committee
encourages residents from Granby, East Granby and Hartland to join
the GCTV Board. The Board of GCTV needs a person with specific
skills in bookkeeping and knowledge of tax exempt filings, etc.
Mike Malloy announced that the Board of Selectman of East Granby
were very pleased with progress of Committee and the purchased
made by the Grant money.
B. Fund raising and Community involvement – Mike Malloy updated
committee on business mailing. Many letter have gone out to area
businesses and more will follow in the next wave.
Michele Holt contacted EGHS for information on student group –
Video Production Class. Tim Testerman, program advisor, indicated
that if we submitted a flyer to him he would pass along to the students
to find interested volunteers.
C. GCTV Return signal – this past weekend the Channel 16 signal was
frozen, scrambled – issues still continue. Replacement of modem will
probably solve issue.
IV. New Business
A. PEGPETIA Grant Fund Reduction
Bill Regan drafted an email letter to area reps to advocate for us to restore funds top PEGPETIA Grant.
ON A MOTION made by Mike Malloy and seconded by Neil Mueller the committee voted (5-0-0) to approve the letter to area representatives as emailed to the committee by Bill to be sent via email to the representatives.
B. New Grant Application
Application for latest round of grant money has not yet been released. Bill called to find out why/when. Committee agreed that we should proceed anyway. Members of committee will submit “wish list” projects to Michele Holt to begin compiling list. Some projects mentioned are: Tie GCTV into Granby fiber optic group, project to install permanent camera in EG Town Hall, Hartland requested an amplifier for the microphones so that residents can hear meetings. “Wish list” to be developed within the next week. Members should outline the project name, scope and rational including benefits, number of people affected, etc.
