Conservation Commission Minutes 11-04-2010
TOWN OF GRANBY

CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES

November 4, 2010

PRESENT: Neil Hornish, Shelley Reuben, and Carolyn Flint.

Also present was Anna Sogliuzzo.

A Quorum was not met, therefore, the minutes from the October 21, 2010 meeting were not voted on.

CLEAN ENERGY TASK FORCE:

Vice-Chairman Reuben will begin the application process for a $4,000 grant through the Clean Energy Fund. The purpose of the grant money is for municipalities to increase their sign-ups. Vice-Chairman Reuben discussed with the Commissioners that it could be a good idea to use a portion of the $4,000 as incentive to get school groups to help with sign-ups. She hopes to have the application in by December before the new Legislative Session begins.

Chairman Hornish will assist with writing articles for the local media (‘The Granby News’, ‘The Granby Drummer’ and ‘The Valley News’) to garner interest in the Clean Energy Task Force.

Ms. Pat Chieski from the Town Manager’s office will continue to work with Vice-Chairman Reuben to create a Clean Energy Task Force page to be added to the Town Website.

Vice-Chairman Reuben also presented the idea to the Commission to write a macro video tutorial on how to sign-up which could be aired on Granby Community Television.

Ms. Flint will look into holding a sign-up workshop at the Senior Center for sometime during the winter.

Respectfully submitted,

Emily Leveille
Recording Secretary
