TOWN OF GRANBY
CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES
November 20, 2008
PRESENT: Mike Lengvarsky, Victoria Mazzei-Stepanov (arrived late), Carolyn Flint, Neil Hornish, and Charles Katan
Chairman Lengvarsky called the meeting to order and confirmed a quorum at 7:39pm
MINUTES:
The minutes from the October 16, 2008 meeting were read.
ON A MOTION by Ms. Carolyn Flint, seconded by Mr. Charles Katan, the minutes were approved on a 3-0-1 vote. Mr. Neil Hornish abstained from voting because he was not in attendance at the October 16, 2008 meeting. Ms. Mazzei-Stepanov did not vote because she had not arrived at the meeting when the vote was taken.
RIDGELINE GUIDELINES:
Chairman Lengvarsky made revisions to the cover letter to be submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission along with the ridgeline guidelines. Chairman Lengvarsky will finalize the packet and submit it to P&Z through Mr. Fran Armentano. Everyone agreed no changes were needed and it was ready for submission.
COMMISSIONER VACANCY:
Chairman Lengvarsky has written an article for the December issue of The Granby Drummer in regards to the commissioner vacancy.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ms. Flint will send information on the Proposed Guidelines for the Granby Center Zone to the Commissioners for discussion at the next meeting on December 4, 2008. She feels the Commission should review the guidelines and provide commentary to the Economic Development Committee.
Mr. Hornish asked Chairman Lengvarsky about whether any progress has been made in the CT Smartpower 20% by 2010 campaign. So far no new discussion has taken place, and Chairman Lengvarsky feels the Commission should think of ways to promote the program in Granby and get more signatures.
No Commissioners attended the 2008 CAICWAC convention held on November 8, 2008.
ON A MOTION by Mr. Hornish, seconded by Ms. Carolyn Flint, the Commission voted (5-0-0) to adjourn the meeting at 7:56pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Emily Leveille
