TOWN OF GRANBY
BOARD OF FINANCE
SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 25, 2011

PRESENT:        Michael Guarco, Chairman; Robert Clark, Francis Brady, Frederick Moffa, OD; and Al Wilke

Chairman Guarco called the special meeting to order at 8:50 p.m.  

ESTABLISH MILL RATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2011-12

Mr. Wilke made a MOTION as follows:

2011-12 RESOLUTION FOR MILL RATE

WHEREAS The Town Meeting has adopted an Annual Budget for the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year on April 25, 2011, as proposed by the Board of Finance, and

WHEREAS This Budget includes appropriations from the General Fund, Dog Fund, Cossitt Library Fund, Local Capital Improvement Program Fund, Capital Equipment/Improvement Fund, Capital Non-Recurring Expenditure Fund, Town Aid Road Fund, Sewer Utility Fund, Recreation Events Fund, Education Quality and Diversity Fund, and Other Funds, and

WHEREAS   This Budget includes an expenditure amount for the Board of Selectmen of $13,503,131 and an expenditure amount for the Board of Education of $26,983,001 for a total Town Budget of $40,486,132, and

WHEREAS    Anticipated revenues excluding taxes levied for the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year amount to $9,770,190,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Finance set a mill rate of 30.10 to raise an estimated $30,715,942 in property taxes for the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year.

Mr. Clark seconded the motion.  The Board voted unanimously (5-0-0) to approve.

ADJOURNMENT

ON A MOTION by Mr. Brady, seconded by Mr. Wilke, the Board voted unanimously (5-0-0) to adjourn the meeting at 8:57 p.m.
