- Callista Platt has been volunteering at the library, working on her Girl Scout Silver Award. The Girl Scout Silver Award symbolizes an 11 to 14-year-old Girl Scout's accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she matures and works to better her life and the lives of others. She created a notebook/scrapbook showing all the programs and activities she worked on. She also volunteered 108 hours at the library last year as part of her High School Community Service requirement.
- The Author Program – Talk and Book Signing with Louis Arthur Norton, author of Captains Contentious: The Dysfunctional Sons of the Brine and New England was held on September 10th and was well attended.

- J. Fox submitted an application regarding a Target early childhood reading grant. She has not heard anything yet.
Old Business
Expansion Committee Update: L. Lochhead reported there is no status change at this time. Bill Kennedy will talk with Town Manger Smith to see if it’s time to move forward.
Board Vacancy: no volunteer has been found yet. This volunteer should be a Republican or an Unaffiliated voter.
Granby Forum – Taping and Broadcast: Joan Fox and Lynn Lochhead will be interviewed by Susan Regan at GCTV for the Granby Forum. This will be taped on Friday, September 18th to be aired on Thursday September 24th. Questions have been given to J. Fox for her review prior to the interview. The Board asked if there would, or could, be any mention of the Library expansion project.
Volunteer Appreciation Tea: The Board decided to hold the Tea in April 2010. If construction is taking place at Cossitt Library at that time, the Tea might be re-scheduled or held at the Granby Public Library. Confirmation of Volunteer Week in April and school vacation week will help determine the best date to hold this function.
