TOWN OF GRANBY
GRANBY WATER POLLUTION CONTROL AUTHORITY
PUBLIC HEARING
MINUTES
MAY 15, 2006
The public hearing of the Granby Water Pollution Control Authority (Board of Selectmen) was called to order by Vice Chairman Sally King at 7:15 p.m.
PRESENT: Sally King, Vice Chairman; Mark Neumann, and William F. Smith, Jr., Town Manager
Vice Chairman King opened the public hearing and read the legal notice as published in the Hartford Courant. The Granby Water Pollution Control Authority has called for a public hearing for the purpose of setting the sewer use rates for 2006-2007.
Town Manager Smith stated he received no communications either written or verbal.
The rates recommended are $102.00 for residential users for average gallons (55,000 gpy) used per year and $147.00 per year for commercial/industrial users (100,000 gpy). These rates have been in place since 1997-98. Even though some expenses have increased, Granby has been able to maintain these rates because of new accounts coming on line. The fees pay for electricity, repairs to the system, and space at the Town of Simsbury.
In response to a question from Selectman Neumann, Town Manager Smith indicated that the Simsbury plant’s renovation and improvements are moving along at a steady pace.
No other public addressed the hearing.
The public hearing was closed at 7:19 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
William F. Smith, Jr.
Town Manager
