TOWN OF GRANBY
BOARD OF SELECTMEN
PUBLIC HEARING
MINUTES
DECEMBER 1, 2008
The public hearing of the Board of Selectmen was called to order by First Selectman John Adams at 7:21 p.m.
PRESENT: John Adams, Ronald Desrosiers, Sally King, Mark Neumann, and William F. Smith, Jr., Town Manager
First Selectman Adams opened the hearing and called on Karen Hazen, Town Clerk, to read the legal notice as published in the Hartford Courant. The Board of Selectmen has called for a public hearing for the purpose of hearing public comment regarding the Town of Granby entering into an Equipment Sharing Agreement for the Farmington Valley Trail Maintenance. The purpose of the agreement will provide for surrounding Farmington Valley towns joint use of certain equipment, making more equipment available, and enhance joint provisions of municipal services across town borders.
Town Manager Smith stated he received no comments, either written or verbal, on the public hearing. Selectman Desrosiers asked for clarification on the equipment list and how each of the machines would be used. Town Manager Smith explained how they would be used and that we would need to budget money to cover the cost of maintenance, which would also be shared with each town.
No other public addressed the public hearing. The public hearing was closed at 7:28 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
William F. Smith, Jr.
Town Manager
