Waiting on golf and tennis.

- Concerts: see below.
- Day Camp: Teen Sizzler and many SG trips already booked; more need to be booked.
B. Town Parks Updates
Mrs. Woodford reported that she has had two (2) scheduling meetings with the various sports leagues to work out scheduling conflicts. The Lacrosse Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, May 7 and use of the park by Little League and Rovers has been worked out; Brigid felt that they would need to hire a policeman to assist with traffic control and hopes that Little League will help with the cost; Rovers will delay games until after 2PM. All groups walked away with concessions on their parts.
There still needs to be some additional scheduling adjustments made in regard to the renovation of the back soccer fields.

C. Coalition Update – Brigid Gunn
Brigid Gunn reported on the Events Committee (the committee she is on). The coalition seems to have good support from the business committee – Lori Love from Granby Village Health will supply at cost, smoothies, fruit and oatmeal on Thursday mornings. Celia Lofink has come up with a new crossword puzzle for the drummer. The coalition is working on a logo and a brochure. The HS had a coffee House last weekend that was very well attended. Capt. Bourke is very involved; the PD recently did a tobacco check of the local businesses and came up with one violation that resulted in a fine.
The local ministers have gotten together to sponsor a 3-night speaking event in June by a young man, The Iron Man, who was deformed at a very young age and now does very successful engagements to middle and high schools.
D. Ice Skating Update
Suzanne Yucha reported that there were more people than lat year and mostly younger children. A surprise visit by Samantha Sojka, Miss Teen CT, in sash and crown was a big hit. The weather was awesome. Public Works did a great job getting the area ready – thank you. Mrs. Woodford read a thank you from the VNA for the food donations.
ON A MOTION by Suzanne Yucha, seconded by Wayne, the Board voted (6-0-0) to donate $75 to LAFD for their time and energies at the event for last year and this year. Discussion: Most items were donated and we still had $90 left over from last year.
E. Summer Concerts
The concert date has been set for Thursday, July 28. It will be the all-inclusive one with American Legion, hopefully the Lions, serving food, a children’s concert at 5PM and a band afterwards, the ice cream social with the movie following after dark.
Mrs. Woodford had made a list of somewhat classic films, more adult orientated than children’s and had asked the Board to give the first three (3) choices. The Board reviewed and came up with Footloose and Grease. Both are rated PG but the Board felt Grease had some undertones maybe not appropriate and Footloose was based in a small town. The Board decided to go with Footloose.
