MINUTES
225th CELEBRATION MEETING
THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2009

Chairman Allen called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm.
MINUTES: Minutes from March 5, 2009 meeting were approved.
PUBLIC SESSION: Doreen Hoddinott from Small World does marketing and would like to get involved. Charlie Colton is involved with ham radio and could possibly help with communications.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Parade: Parade will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2011 with a step off time scheduled for 11:00 am. Suggested parade route will start at the High School and end at Salmon Brook Park. Ceremonies will take place inside the park at the end of the route with the grandstand possibly at the band stand. Other suggestions included an old-time baseball game and a barbeque.
Fundraising: The committee has come up with ideas: mugs, flip-flops, calendar (men of Granby posing at historical sites around town), sock hop. They will look into cost for funds needed to start. (Unit cost for items and how many would be needed.) It was suggested to have a booth at Celebrate Granby to promote awareness o f 225th Celebration and the logo contest. The booth could be playing the 200th celebration video if we are able to get electricity. A logo committee needs to be formed. Audrey Lampert will contact Lori Garcia to see if she is interested. Need someone to look into any types of grants that might be available.
Fireworks: Martha Delaney will look into cost. The display will be held the same day as the parade.
Website: Kay is waiting for response from the town manager.

New Business:
Events Committee: Need to get more people involved. A suggestion was made to make a DVD tour of Granby. Suggestions included an old-time baseball game, a barbeque,
Publicity: Need to focus on a logo. Blurbs have been in the Drummer. Will contact Heather Lockwood from the Granby News and George Lynch from the Drummer.
Time Line: We have set the date for the parade.
Budget: Will know more as we move along.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:53.
