OLD BUSINESS
A. GAFLAC
No report.
B. BATH HOUSE
Mrs. Woodford reported that Jamie Klase of Public Works has not determined the amount of money needed to repair the existing bathhouse. Susanne Yucha commented that she had read an article in The Granby News that $10,000.00 was needed. Mrs. Woodford will be meeting with Jamie Klase later in the month.
C. 225th CELEBRATION
No report
D. Winter Skating Activity
Suzanne Yucha volunteered to take charge of the ice skating activity to be held at Salmon Brook Park at the end of January. In order to get the event publicized, the Board will need to determine the date by mid November.
Squire Bressor asked about the kind of rink being planned and Mrs. Woodford replied that it will be the same as a couple years ago but that Kirk Severance of Public Works would like to move the location nearer the pavilion so electricity for lighting and water for filling would be available.

Suzanne Yucha suggested asking both for donations and getting sponsors such as Dunkin Donuts or the PTO so hot chocolate and other hot beverages could be served to participants.
Mrs. Woodford said she has asked about having a bonfire (perhaps using Christmas trees) but has not received an answer. Suzanne said she would work with the fire department and get a permit if the bonfire is approved.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Program Updates
- Mrs. Woodford passed out the September newsletter. Fall wrestling, graphic novel writing, and preschool gymnastics programs were canceled due to low enrollment.
- She said that this newsletter along with registration forms for Ski Sundown and 2010 Youth Basketball were sent to the Board of Education to be attached to the schools’ electronic backpacks. Distribution of flyers through the schools is no longer permitted. She reported that she has received 6 ski registrations.
B. Town Parks Updates
- Mrs. Woodford said the Marquis of Granby event at Salmon Brook Park October 3 5, 2009 attracted fewer people than anticipated because of the rainy weather. The groups coming from out of town canceled their battle reenactment. She said that the event coordinators were disappointed that the Drummer came out late, and that lack of publicity hurt them. Suzanne Yucha mentioned it was advertised in The Hartford Courant.
C. Coaches’ Conduct Policy
No report
OTHER BUSINESS AS NECESSARY
- According to Mrs. Woodford, the Rovers Soccer Club would like to increase their number of fields and will be coming before the various town boards to get approval.
