BOARD OF SELECTMEN
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 9, 2007
The special meeting of the Board of Selectmen was called to order by Vice-Chairman Sally King at 10:33 a.m.
PRESENT: Sally King, Vice-Chairman; and William F. Smith, Jr., Town Manager. Ronald Desrosiers, Frank Judice, and Mark Neumann, participated via telephone conference.
OTHER ATTENDEE: James Klase, Public Works Superintendent
The agenda was distributed earlier describing the reason for this special meeting. Town Manager Smith answered questions by the Board regarding the consideration of adopting a resolution authorizing the Town Manager to apply to the Capitol Regional Council of Governments to conduct a town center traffic study funded under the federal STP-Urban program.
ON A MOTION by Selectman Ronald Desrosiers, second by Selectman Mark Neumann, the Board voted unanimously (4-0-0) to approve the RESOLUTION as follows:
RESOLUTION
Granby Board of Selectmen
WHEREAS, Federal monies are available under the Federally funded STP-Urban Program, administered by the Capital Region Council of Governments;
WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that the Town of Granby make application for projects qualified for funding under STP-Urban Program;
WHEREAS, the Federal monies are capped at 2.5 million dollars per project and with this understanding, the Town will cover all associated costs over the 2.5 million dollar cap;
WHEREAS, the Town of Granby is making application to the CRCOG for a Center Corridor Study that involves U.S. Route 10/202, State Route 20, and State Route 189; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Granby Authorize the Town Manager, William F. Smith, Jr., to apply for funding under the STP-Urban Program and to execute any documents necessary to obtain such funding.
