TOWN OF GRANBY
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
NOVEMBER 6, 2006

Electors and citizens qualified to vote at Town Meetings of the Town of Granby are hereby warned that a Special Town Meeting will be held in the Town Hall Meeting Room located at 15 North Granby Road, Granby, Connecticut at 8:00 p.m. on November 6, 2006 for consideration of the following resolutions:

1.      BE IT RESOLVED that upon recommendation of the Board of Selectmen, the following be accepted as a town road:

Cider Mill Heights (Section III) located at its intersection at the southern line of Mountain Road then running in a generally southerly direction for 2,500 feet to a turnaround.

Dated at Granby, Connecticut, this 16th day of October 2006 and signed by all the members of the Board of Selectmen.

First Selectman John Adams read the call for the meeting as recorded on page 146.

The RESOLUTION, as recorded on page 146 was introduced by Selectman King and seconded by Selectman Neumann.

Town Manager Smith stated no correspondence directly relating to this action has been received.

Director of Community Development Fran Armentano was present this evening to provide additional information.  He stated the developer has gone bankrupt, however, there is a $50,000 cash bond in place and a claim against the foreclosure.  Mr. Armentano will work with the Town Engineer to complete the road.  The Public Works department will maintain the road throughout the winter and will be paid from the bond.

The Town Attorney is working with the bankruptcy Attorney (the trustee) and Warrantee deeds will be prepared, as the Town will purchase the road from the trustee.

A resident of 64 Cider Mill Heights supported Mr. Armentano’s stating last winter was a horror story as related to the maintenance of the road.

Selectman King MOVED ADOPTION of the RESOLUTION, second by Selectman Neumann.

First Selectman Adams called for a voice vote, which unanimously approved the RESOLUTION accepting Cider Mill Heights (Section III) as a town road.

There being no other business before the Town Meeting, First Selectman Adams adjourned the meeting at 8:09 p.m.

Dated at Granby Connecticut this 6th day of November, 2006
