TOWN OF GRANBY
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
SEPTEMBER 21, 2009
Electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings are hereby warned that a Special Town Meeting will be held in the Town Hall Meeting Room, 15 North Granby Road, Granby, Connecticut at 8:00 p.m., on Monday, September 21, 2009, for the purpose of considering and acting upon the following resolution:
1. BE IT RESOLVED that upon recommendation of the Board of Selectmen, the Town of Granby approves the transfer of property and all associated easements to the South Congregational Church as outlined on a map entitled “Land Transfer South Congregational Church Plan”. Prepared for Town of Granby, by the Office of Sanderson & Washburn, Drawing No. 09-11, dated December 31, 2008. The property to be transferred is identified as parcel 1, also known as 246R Salmon Brook St.
2. BE IT RESOLVED that upon recommendation of the Board of Selectmen, the Town of Granby approves the acceptance of a parcel of land and all associated easements from the South Congregational Church as outlined on a map entitled “Land Transfer South Congregational Church Plan”. Prepared for Town of Granby, by the Office of Sanderson & Washburn, Drawing No. 09-11, dated December 31, 2008. The property to be transferred is identified as parcel 4, and is located to the rear of 248 Salmon Brook Street.
Said map is more particularly described and is on file in the office of the Town Manager.

The warning was duly signed by all the members of the Board of Selectmen.
TOWN MODERATOR, Donald Wilmot, called the Town Meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. and introduced himself. He reviewed the requirements for voting this evening and the purpose of tonight’s meeting.
MODERATOR Wilmot then called on the Town Clerk, Karen I. Hazen, to read the call as recorded on page 206.
The 1st RESOLUTION was introduced by Selectman King, seconded by Selectman Desrosiers, as recorded on page 206.
Town Manager Smith gave a brief summary of the history of the properties involved and the purpose of the exchange. Resident Gerry Ledger requested Town Manager Smith hold up the map to show residents the plan of what property is being transferred. Mr. Ledger wanted to know if Planning and Zoning approved this transaction and did they agree the parking area was acceptable for any future owners. Town Manager Smith indicated that Planning and Zoning agreed with the transaction.
Moderator Wilmot asked if there were any more questions. There were not. He then asked for a voice note. There was 1 opposing vote. RESOLUTION APPROVED.
The 2nd RESOLUTION was introduced by Selectman King and duly seconded as recorded on page 206.
Resident Gerry Ledger addressed Town Manager Smith wanting to know if the Visiting Nurses Association was aware of the pending transaction. Town Manager Smith responded that the VNA was aware of the pending transfer.
Moderator Wilmot asked if there were any more questions. There were not. He then asked for a voice vote. There was 1 opposing vote. RESOLUTION APPROVED.
There were no more questions from electors and MODERATOR Wilmot thanked everyone for participating.
There was no other business to come before the Town Meeting. MODERATOR Wilmot made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Selectman King, the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
