YOUTH SERVICES BUREAU ADVISORY BOARD
Minutes
October 14, 2009
PRESENT: Jack Cashman, Linda Pollock, Donna Snyder, Sue Sojka
STAFF PRESENT: Ingrid Helander, KerryAnn Kielbasa
ABSENT: Lisa Reinhardt, Shirley Ryan, Lisa Venn, Kyle Venn, Michael Zanerzick
STAFF ABSENT: Chief David Watkins, Kay Woodford
As there was not a quorum, the meeting was cancelled.
NOTES:
- Ms. Kielbasa distributed information on the Board and its' purpose. It was felt the Board's numbers should be reduced as the current number of 17 members makes it difficult to have a forum. The group discussed having a total of five kids (two who can vote) on the Board, three from the Middle School and two from the high school and a total of nine adults.
- Sue Sojka will draft a letter outlining the commitment of Board members and Ms. Kielbasa will have the Town Manager review it.
- There was a discussion regarding the Mission Statement and the following was drafted:
"The mission of the Youth Service Bureau is to promote healthy youth development by enhancing communication between young people, their families and our community utilizing the 40 developmental asset framework."
- Sign-up sheets were distributed for tasks to be done to prepare for the Public Forum on November 5th.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
