Drawing and Painting for Teens
For ages 13 & older
Come to Matt Ryan's popular Friday sessions and develop skills in a relaxed atmosphere while working on individual projects. Components of drawing and painting will explore pencil, charcoal, watercolors and acrylic paint, working from photo reference and the imagination. Emphasis will be on creativity and individual expression. Experiment with a new medium, try something new!
Anyone paying by check should include a copy of his or her driver's license.

Intro to Chinese
Building a Bridge Between East & West
For grades 3 – 6
The Chinese Language School of Greater Hartford (CLS) has designed a Chinese Cultural and Basic Language Program to be presented in 10 one-hour sessions. CLS will provide qualified instructors to conduct the classes and provide all learning and activity materials. The dialect to be taught will be mandarin.
This class will introduce a meaningful, interesting and integrated Chinese learning curriculum that will bring cultural awareness and basic language foundation for Chinese and Chinese culture. Curriculum will include the following: greetings, names & Moon Festival celebration; song & learning numbers; geography and calligraphy practice; folk (bamboo) dance; brush painting & color names; songs & learning family; experience Chinese food with chopsticks; Yo-Yo & tricks; origami; and review of songs & language.
