Better connecting farmers and consumers

Logistics
Date:  February 10, 2010; snow date February 11, 2010
Time:  6pm to 9pm
Location:  Granby Memorial High School Commons

Proposed Agenda
  • 6:00 – 6:30pm – Registration
  • 6:30 – 7:15pm – Facilitated brainstorming discussion on ideas to better connect farmers with consumers
  • 7:15 – 7:30 – Break out in workshop groups
  • 7:30 – 8:30pm – Workshop topics will be determined in the brainstorming session.  A facilitator and recorder will be assigned to each workshop.    Each workshop will discuss a specific strategy aimed at better connecting the farmers with the consumers.  Pros and cons, logistics and recommendations should be considered.  At the end of the workshop, each group should be prepared to answer the following questions regarding their strategy:
  • Description of program
  • How should this be implemented for 2010
  • What is the logistical issues that need to be addressed to make this successful
  • How should this be marketed
  • Are there any obstacles that need to be managed
  • Any others suggestions / concerns
  • 8:30 – 9:00 – Review of workshop results
  • 9:00 – Closing comments and reception
