Community Innovations Grant Program
TOWN OF GRANBY
FOR RELEASE – March 16, 2011

Community Innovations Grant Program

Dear Granby Community Leaders and Organizations:

In November of 2007 Granby committed itself to supporting 20% clean renewable energy for its public facilities by the year 2010.  To further assist the in achieving even greater clean energy efforts, the Board of Selectmen established the Granby Clean Energy Task Force. Over the coming year, the Energy Task Force will be making grant applications for community-based CLEAN ENERGY projects.

Our Task Force, in partnership with the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, it is now soliciting proposals for projects that promote the use of clean renewable energy in our community.  Examples of such projects may include a school sign-up campaign to encourage clean energy household signups on electric use, a community event designed to teach about clean energy, school calendar information to raise awareness about importance of clean energy, and the development and delivery of local access cable programming.  One of the goals of the Innovations Grant Program is to challenge the creativity of different communities in Connecticut.

  • From March 7 to April 4, 2011, the Granby Clean Energy Task Force is asking that you submit proposals for funding consideration.
