Seasonal Employment - Recreation Department
Arts & Crafts Specialist
The Granby Recreation Department is seeking a seasonal, full-time Summer Day Camp Arts and Crafts Specialist for ages 5-12 years old. Candidates must have the ability to work in a team environment, create a safe, fun experience, love working with children, being outside and enjoy the camp experience. Responsibilites include organizing and implementing all arts and crafts projects for Summer Fun Camp as well as supervising campers during all camp activities including lunch, field trips and open swim. Candidates must be energetic, responsible, dependable and enthusiastic and have prior camp experience. This person must be able to work from June 21 through August 13. The rate of pay is $12.00 and up per hour. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age and be certified or willing to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid training prior to the start of the program.
Summer Camp Counselors
The Granby Recreation Department is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals who love working with kids. Counselors are repsonsible for daily camp activities including sports, games, theme days, aquatics, arts, education, nature and field trips. Candidates will supervise groups of campers, ensuring all campers have a fun and safe camp experience. Candidates must love working with children, being outside and enjoy the camp experience. This person must be able to work from June 21 through August 13 and have prior camp experience. The rate of pay is $12.00 and up per hour. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age and be certified or willing to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid training prior to the start of the program.
Lifeguard
The Granby Recreation Department seeks seasonal, part-time summer lifeguards. The lifeguard will monitor swimmers and the facilities and perform necessary first aid based upon the guidelines and standard operating procedures set by the American Red Cross. Duties may include possible phone usage (talking/listening), greeting participants, basic facility cleaning/maintenance and equipment/pond set up. Requirements include American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and current CPR and First Aid Certification or willing to obtain. This person must be able to work from mid-June through late August. The rate of pay is $12.00 and up per hour, depending on experience.
