Granby field hockey is legendary in the state of Connecticut and author Rob Penfield has written a thrilling account of the first Connecticut Interscholastic and Athletic Conference championship. Nearly 50 years ago Dot Johnson coached the Granby team to victory, but the story is about more than winning. Meet a local sports legend or two and hear stories from author Rob Penfield, former Farmington Valley Herald sports editor and author of A Life of Obstructions: The 1973 Connecticut Field Hockey Season and First-Ever Tournament. This is a casual gathering for all ages and there will be opportunity to share your own field hockey story!

Library programs are free to the public. Books signed by the author will be available for purchase with cash or check only.
