Craft beer is more popular than ever and author Em Sauter, Beer is for Everyone (of Drinking Age), will take you through the main elements that make beer what it is, from malt to hops to water. Learn about diverse styles and ingredients in the world of beer, and taste a sample or two during the presentation.
If you can't tell a pilsner from a bock, an IPA from a witbier, or if you're confused by whiskey-like barrel aged beers and fruity saisons, this is the program - and book - for you!
For adults 21 and older. Registration highly encouraged; seating limited.
About the author:
Em Sauter holds a Masters in Fine Arts, a plus for a blogger who writes/illustrates the popular Pints and Panels blog, and recently wrote and illustrated Beer is For Everyone (of Drinking Age). Sauter also holds a "day job" as communications manager for a Connecticut brewery.
A former Darien resident, Sauter is certified as an Advanced Cicerone (think of it like a sommelier but for beer) and she is the recipient of Saveur Magazine’s best beer coverage award. She was one of Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s top 40 tastemakers under 40 in 2016 and has judged many beer competitions including the Great American Beer Festival. In her spare time, she blogs and reviews beers on her website, pintsandpanels.com. Oh - and she really likes beer!
