Plan "B" Book Group - Our Online Book Discussion!

Meets Monday, Oct 8, November 29 & December 27, 2021, 6:30 - 7:30 PM via Zoom

When the Library Book Clubs can't meet in the Library, they go online! Granby Public Library is excited to introduce Plan "B," our virtual book discussion group. Join us as we connect online through reading, conversation, and good books! Leading the discussions are Doug Soucier & Beth Morrill, who have led our popular SciFi /Fantasy & Around the World book discussions. This group alternates genres and discussion leaders, and copies of selected titles are available in the Main Branch of the library and/or for download via Overdrive/Libby. Registration is required to get the necessary login/password information.  Register through the Library's online calendar or by calling the Library.

The following in-person book groups are currently "on hold" with the hope that they will resume when normal Library operations resume:

Something about the Author

Meets the first Monday of each month (except September) 1:30pm - 2:30pm, Fox Room, Main Library
This group selects an author (domestic or international; all genres) and the Library displays all the materials by said author in the previous weeks to aid the discussion.  Often, a video will be shown as well, perhaps an interview with the author.  Light refreshments are provided.

Around the World Book Group

Meets on the third Monday of the month; 6:30pm - 7:45pm, Main Library

International authors are the focus of this group; multiple copies of the pre-selected title are available before the meeting.

Sci-Fi / Fantasy Book Group

Meets on the last Wednesday of the month; 7:00pm - 8:00pm, Main Library

This group focuses on selected science fiction and fantasy writers; multiple copies of the pre-selected title are available before the meeting.

The UnBook Club, which provides multiple copies of a pre-selected novel or memoir.  Check out the book, write a simple review (form is provided in the book) and share with other UnBook readers!  Check at the Main Desk for more information.
