Information Release to Residents Regarding COVID-19

As part of the town's emergency planning, the Health Department develops and maintains plans to address situations like this.  We have met with our public safety and emergency management partners to coordinate our planning efforts.  At this point, our main focus is on situational awareness and ensuring information flow to our citizens as we track and disseminate the latest recommendations and guidelines from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).

Local, State, and Federal Health officials are encouraging residents to take the following precautions to prevent infectious diseases, such as the flu and COVID-19, from spreading:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water.
  • When sick, stay home to protect others.
  • Always cover your cough or sneeze.
  • Follow CDC recommendations.

State of Connecticut 211 is an additional source of information on COVID-19.

The town continues to monitor the CDC website (www.cdc.gov) and the State of Connecticut website (https//portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus) for changes.

You can find Senior Center (www.granby-ct.gov/senior-services) and Park and Recreation (www.granby-ct.gov/park-recreation) event cancelations on their webpage or on Facebook.

Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
