Project Scope
The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation is overseeing the Granby Center Major Intersection Improvements project. Work includes the widening of Route 10/202/189 to provide 11-foot travel lanes with 4-foot shoulders. The widening of the road will allow dedicated left-turn lanes in certain locations, combined through/right-turn lanes and right turn lanes. To accommodate pedestrians in Granby Center, concrete sidewalks will be installed along both Salmon Brook Street and on Hartford Avenue from the Town Center to Bank Street. Crosswalks will also be installed throughout the project area. It is expected work will be completed in 2023. Please refer to the "DOT Granby Center Project Plans' posted on the Town website under "News" to see the planned improvements. You may contact the Community Development Department with any questions at 860-844-5318.
Current Update - 10/19/2022

It is also expected sidewalks and ramps will be completed this fall, weather permitting. After this work is complete, the contractor will work to stabilize the area and winterize the project before shutting down for the winter. It should be noted, paving will not be complete this year before the shut down.
