How to Get a Library Card
Anyone who is a resident of Granby, Connecticut is eligible to get a library card from the Granby Public Library System. Your card will be usable in any public library in the State of Connecticut.
To get a card, you must fill out and submit a registration form and present a valid form of identification with your name and proof of your current address (driver’s license, checkbook, or cancelled mail) to a service desk at either branch of our library.

Out of Town/Out of State residents who own property in Granby can also request & be given a Granby library card by providing proof of such ownership.
Non-Residents
Material may be borrowed with a hometown library card from any public library in Connecticut. Granby residents may use their cards at any public library in Connecticut. Most borrowed items may be returned to any Connecticut public library.
Renewing Your Card / Replacing Lost Card
Library cards are valid for 3 years. Your card can be renewed at any customer service desk at either branch of the Granby Public Library with your photo ID (required) which displays your Granby address. There is a $1 fee for the replacement of a lost card.
Temporary Cards for New Patrons Wishing to Use eResources
To apply for a temporary library card to access eBooks, eVideos, & eAudiobooks, please fill out our online Temporary Library Registration form. All downloadable resources are available on our website 24/7. Temporary cards expire in 3 months, so patrons should plan to visit the library in person during that time to obtain a "permanent" card.
