Town of Hartland
Granby does not provide Zoning or Inland Wetlands enforcement for Hartland. Hartland Permit applications are available at the Granby Town Hall and can be obtained from the Granby Town's website.
Process to Obtain Building Permits
The Town of Granby provides building inspection services to the Town of Hartland on a contractual basis. In order to obtain a permit, you will need to provide an adequate description of the proposed project along with construction drawings (if applicable). In many cases, plans may be drawn by a homeowner or contractor and do not have to be prepared by an architect or design professional. You will need to provide an estimated cost for the project, including labor. If a contractor will be performing the work, a copy of their CT Registration, Certificate of Insurance and Worker's Compensation (or State Waiver) is required. In most cases, if the information provided by an applicant is complete, a building permit will be issued within a few days at most. The Building Official is allowed up to 30 days under State Statute to review and either approve or deny a building permit.
If you are seeking a building permit for an addition, accessory structure, new home or similar, you will first need to contact the Hartland Zoning Enforcement Officer at seisenlohrlanduse@hotmail.com to verify that the proposed location conforms to Zoning and Wetlands Regulations. If you do not have a plot plan or as-built drawing of your property, please contact Granby Land Use Coordinator Renee Deltenre at rdeltenre@granby-ct.gov to see if one is on file.
Permit Fee
Hartland's permit fee is $16 per $1,000 of constructed value (or any portion thereof). All checks for permit application fees should be made out to the "Town of Hartland".
